Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

The Zone. It’s an almost myth-like state where any knowledge makes perfect sense and sears itself into your brain. For hundreds of years, students have desperately sought to get there and only a few have made it.

Entry into The Zone is not a simple feat. It requires something called “intensive study sessions,” where in 30-45 minutes you learn as much as possible. Once your time is up, it’s over. That’s it. No more chances. You either got it or you didn’t.

Studying like this sounds counterintuitive. If you didn’t get it, you should keep on studying, right? Wrong. By applying this pressure, you take the study session much more seriously. Staying focused for only 30 minutes is much easier than trying to stay focused for three hours. Because of this, you are much more on task. Thoughts don’t run quite as rampant and there are no snack breaks. With your focus narrowed, absorbing and retaining information is no problem. The intensive study session is the golden ticket straight into The Zone.
