For most, their options are narrowed down to two choices-- go online or read a book. Luckily for them, if going online does not prove to be too much of a distraction, the internet is filled with a variety of helpful tips and tricks; from creating handmade flashcards to utilizing a font specifically designed to improve memory, the information seems endless. In my case, locating online flashcards has always worked best. Testing the capacity of my knowledge with a friend using these flashcards have produced tremendous results as well.
I normally used the flashcards for the trials of Spanish class, and since they contained vocabulary words from my textbook, I’d found the perfect thing for me. Though effective, consistency was absolutely required, so I studied in thirty minute intervals, taking breaks when needed. While I tried to convince myself music would offer more help than hurt, I eventually cut it out of my routine. It took quite a lot of trial and error before perfection came to me, but it was worth the shining “A” upon my test papers.
Over time, the attitude towards studying began to shift. It became less of a chore, and more of a gateway to making sure my GPA remained high. Another favorite test practice is memorization. While this is typically a given, enhancing my memory through various study practices ultimately aided me in the long run. Being able to accurately recite, both orally and through written exams, my Spanish work impressed me and my teacher. This study habit has ultimately helped me in taking that final step towards greatness.
