Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I will now state some test taking preparations that I find help me before the big day. One method that works for me is writing out some of the main topics on the test. This helps the information stay in your brain longer than just reading the words. Another method would be making flashcards. Write the question or the vocabulary word on one side of the card and on the other side write the answer. This will let you review the answers to make sure you have them right before the big day. Also make sure to avoid distractions like your phone, music, and television so you can focus on studying for your test. Try to visualize the material and to understand what it is saying. This will let you take in the information and not just forget it after the actual test.
After long periods of studying, it is easy to skim over words without understanding what it is saying. Be in the moment and focus on what has to be done. This will help you retain the information better for the test. Being well-rested the night before the test is always important. This helps your brain refresh itself and be ready for the day ahead. Also be sure to have breakfast the morning of the test because eating helps you feel energized and ready to face the day. It will also make sure you aren’t distracted during the test from feeling hungry. I would recommend not studying for long periods without a break because it can stress you out and cause you to lose sight of your goal. Making sure you study, get a good sleep the night before, and are ready for the test are all great ways to be successful.
