Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I have different strategies for test-taking depending on which class it is in. If it's for math, I usually try to meet with a tutor or the teacher during my own time and go over the concepts, and then go through several practice problems until I feel confident in my ability to pass the test. For tests in classes like history or government, I have found that memorizing the numeric information like dates of events and data is often the most helpful, because this is usually the most easily confused part of those subjects. It helps to go on Quizlet and try to find a detailed study set, because Quizlet has several studying options like flashcards, practice quizzes, and memorization games. In my geography class, I have to take tests with a lot of information as well. With maps, I color-code the different countries of each region in order to have a striking and easy to remember visualization to be able to memorize where different places are on the map. In the political portion of geography, I make detailed notes with the important information in bold font so I know which concepts I need to focus on the most. With scientific classes, I also use study sets on Quizlet and print out any diagrams necessary to place visual images in my head that I can remember during the tests. I believe the key to successful studying for tests is using the resources around you, whether it's your peers, teachers, tutors, notes from class, information online, Quizlet, or doing practice questions from textbooks. Taking control of the information and resources available to you will always help you succeed, not only in tests and academic situations, but in life as well.
