Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

For me, test preparation involves planning and organizing when and where I am going to study, repeatedly going over test material, and getting a good night's rest before the exam. To begin with, I write every test or event on a calendar in my dorm room. The calendar faces me, so I can get perspective of what test I need to start preparing for. With this visual reminder, I can start studying a week before my exam. This is important, because I need to get in lots of repetition to understand and retain the information ahead of the exam. I start studying by going to a quiet area, with others being productive in the environment around me. The library is perfect for this, everyone is either working on homework or studying for an exam, there are no distractions around for me to waste time with. I usually go to a back corner of the library to isolate myself from any further distractions as well. This occurs usually every night before the big test, but I tend to study the most in the days right before. This is important to me, because I can get in the repetition needed to do well on the exam. Finally, on the night before the exam, I study for a couple of hours, and try to relax myself before bed. I go to bed at a reasonable hour, so I can get enough sleep to focus for the big exam the next day. This shows how I prepare for a successful test through organization, repetition, and a good night's rest.
