Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I start off by preparing for test at least 3 weeks in advance. Knowing the exact date I will be taking the test allows me to get in the proper mindset well ahead of time. By giving myself plenty of time to do a cram-session then take a full day of rest from the subject allows me to take a mental break to let the information I studied sink in. Very similar to a HIIT exercise routine, I'm allowing plenty of time to study then rest without being stressed by waitng until the last minute. Also, the night before I make sure I eat a good dinner, usually something involving salmon (brain food), do a light review of the subject I'm testing on, then get to bed as early as possible. Again I want as little stress and disorganization as possible, freeing up my brain to fully focus on the task at hand.
To summarize the main things for successful test taking: preparing far in advance, proper nutrition and good sleep habits.
