Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
The most effective test prep for me in classes such as history and science, is going back over notes and re-writing them, trying only to write out the most important information that they contains. The process of handwriting the notes allows the information to solidify much better than just reading them over, as if forces me to take things slow and process what I’m reading as I write it. Additionally for important vocabulary words I like to make mnemonic devices for them, relating them to something funny or a little rhyme that is easier to remember than just their basic definitions that may be complicated. For math classes the best thing for me is to have a lot of practice problems available to work over the concepts that I don't have a full grasp on. After finishing the problems I go over the answer sheet and for the problems I did incorrectly I search for videos or web pages that go through the steps for properly completing the problem. This allows me to actively improve on the concepts that I am weak on rather than just ignoring it and being unprepared for the next time a similar problem comes up.
