Merriam-Webster defines addict as " to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively" or "one who is addicted especially to a substance." It is safe to say that during my freshmen and sophomore year of high school I was addicted to Quizlet. Before every test or quiz I took, I completed a quizlet no matter what. The Quizlet set could be five terms or it could be five hundred terms. Quizlet was my hero. I don't know if it was the adrenaline of typing in all the terms or if it was the feeling of accomplishment when I finished a set. For some tests, I didn't even care if I did well on the test - all that mattered was finishing my Quizlet. The application allowed me to enjoy studying, and I believe that is why it was successful for me. Something about the satisfaction of completing a Quizlet and sharing it with my classmates was so appealing. It was beautiful to watch the last bit of my notes appear on the screen so I could then click the "Done" button. I always enjoyed rewriting my notes before a test, and Quizlet allowed me to do this while sharing my knowledge and notes with others. I was learning and studying to not only help myself but to help my classmates.
