Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

The best test preparation methods that I have found include visual memorization and verbal repetition. In other words, memorization is the easiest route. I often will use Quizlet to prepare for my tests. It is critical to create your own Quizlet flashcards to make sure you know the material by cycling through that information thoroughly. This works because when creating flashcards, you have to make sure you get the information right or else studying with the flashcards is useless later on. Instead of mindlessly browsing over the flashcards or notes, read them out loud. This helps keep what you study in your head. Never only study the day before the test! If you start practicing a week ahead and go over the information for 15 minutes a day, it will be much easier to keep it all in your head. Another method I use for test studying is gum chewing. A long time ago, I heard that when you chew gum while studying for a test and then during a test, your brain will be able to recall more from your preparation. Whether it is scientific or not, it has been an effective addition to my exam experiences!
