For me personally, I have found that I am unable to study unless I have a nice and neat area to be in. I start by cleaning my room. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but as long as my bed is made, the clothes are put away, and my desk has space to put all of my papers out, I am able to focus much better. The next step I like to take is to turn off and put away all electronics for the night. The flashing light and the noises coming from them make a terrible distraction. Once my workspace is clean and clear of distraction, it’s time to get my study tools ready. I quick organize my backpack so the papers are easily accessible.
Food has a huge role in preparing for a test. While I am studying, I find it helpful to snack on healthy items. I stay away from junk food because it impacts my level of energy and focus. In the morning before the test, it’s always a great idea to have a good balanced breakfast. This will keep you awake and full so your stomach isn’t growling during the test. Along with what I eat, sleep is another key part of preparing for a test. Being well rested is great for keeping your mind going. I also wake up about thirty minutes earlier than I normally would so that my mind is awake and ready for the day instead of still being half asleep during the test.
Tests are a very important part of a student’s life, and being prepared for them can be difficult. Once you find a way to cut out distractions and focus on what you need to know, you can go a long way. By simply cleaning up and getting a healthy snack, your test scores may soar.
