Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
The best test preparation that works for me is writing and repetitiveness. Writing down (taking notes) all important information in a notebook initially allows me to "soak" in new information. Later, I can re-read what I have written. I will make notes or mark material I have questions about. As a test approaches, I will go back and high lite information that I feel most important and may be on the test. The high lighted information will then be copied onto index or flash cards. This way I can pull them out throughout the day anytime, anywhere and look them over. If I feel I've missed something, I can always refer back to my original notes and add to the index card.
This might seem a bit tedious and a long process but as a visual learner, I have found it works for me. Writing material down several times and shortening it as the process goes on helps me to retain better than just reading or verbalizing it.
