Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
When preparing for a test, I always review my notes and highlight the key words, terms, and phrases. After that, I use the words and terms that I highlighted and redefine them in my own terms to easier understand them. After redefining my key terms, I tie my concepts together that I need to know by writing how each term connect to each other. No matter what, I always hand write my notes and rewrite them because I find that I better memorize information when I hand write instead of type my information. I try not to prepare for tests hours at a time. At most, I study and review for 30 minutes and then take a short break. This helps me refocus instead of just browsing information for hours because I tend to doze off, especially if the information isn't interesting to me. No one wants to read over chemistry notes for hours! In total, I maximize my time so that I am not spending all of my weekends preparing for tests. Quizlet always comes in handy for me when studying to make sure that I completely know the information. Quizzing myself allows me to ensure that I am proficient on terms and key information. These are the studying strategies that work best for me and have proven to be successful for me throughout the past four years of high school. I will continue these strategies throughout college in order to stay determined.
