Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Studying for me starts in the classroom when I am taking notes during a lecture. I organize my notes and use colors that appeal to me, like blue. I do this to make studying a little bit more interesting instead of looking at unorganized, bland notes. By having everything color coded, I can reference back to find what I am looking for easier. Using this visual code, I can also visual the answers as I take the test. I also find it very beneficial to me to rewrite important things while studying to help me remember them more. I tend to study my notes every night up until the day of the test instead of cramming it all in on the night before. I incorporate members of my family to help me by asking me questions from study guides. Another thing that I find helpful is using flashcards. With remembering dates, vocabulary words, and definitely in my foreign language class. One thing that I have learned over the years is that I do not have a quiet house. I have been able to use the noise in my house to help me pinpoint my focus on what I am studying. I figure that this is going to be a very useful skill when I go to college and have a roommate. I will not have to worry about finding a quiet place to study, I will be able to study anywhere.
