Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Whenever I have to take any tests, I get tremendously nervous. I have never been one of those lucky people who are unfazed when they take a test. I have to mentally and physically prepare beforehand. A couple of weeks before the test, I make sure to put in some time in studying. I usually like to rewrite my notes to make them more organized, and also so I can have them fresh on my mind. This strategy has always helped me, and I stand by it every time I have a test. Writing stuff down helps me get a better understanding of it, and it helps me memorize everything.
Another thing I do when I have an upcoming test is to make sure to get enough sleep. Rest is super important before a big day; if you need to be at your 100%, then getting enough sleep will do the job. Now, this next tip is top secret, but I have decided to let you guys in on it. Whenever I have something that I'm dreading to do (take a test) or an event that I'm not looking forward to, I always make sure to do something that makes me happy afterward. For example, if at the beginning of the day, I have an important test, then I will make sure to celebrate and buy myself a little treat after the test. That way, I'll look forward to taking and finishing the test. I do this for everything, not just tests. It helps me not dread tests or anything and be optimistic. These are only a few strategies that I use for when I am going to take a test.
