Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Plenty of sleep. When I am tired I can not hold focus on my studies. I have to have sleep and no noise to study. I take lots of notes on flashcards and read them over and over again. I have people quiz me on the notes I have taken. Most of the time I study for only an hour at a time so that I do not get burnt out on the topic and lose interest.
Read the study material over and over to completely understand and to memorize the key points. I continue to go over the material time and time again.
Put the topic if possible into real life/time events. I need to relate what I am studying to life and current events to try to put myself in that setting. If studying math I try to use my accounting practices that I do daily. If studying history I try to link to current events. If studying any type of science I relate to my job in the medical field or current events within the environment.
Take breaks. I take breaks from studying and go back to it later in the day or right before I go to bed. I don't want to stress myself out and I want to be fresh when I have to take a test the next day. I focus on myself and the time I have to study. I make time for my other things in life to distract myself and not get caught up in one thing and one thing only. This helps me have a game plan and give my all when it is time to be tested.
Keep focused. I know my end game, I know what I need to do and I continue to remind myself that the studying and succeeding in my course will benefit me and help me fulfill the achievement.
Success - feeling very confident when it is time to test. I am ready to move forward and test.
