Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Throughout my multitude of years as a student, I have received many tests. These tests come in all shapes and sizes. In my freshman year and below, I was never the foremost test taker. However, for the past three years, I learned from my mistakes and gradually came up with the best way to prepare. I changed my method of waiting until the last minute to to "study" by cramming in all of the information to studying small sections of the material each night. By studying in small bits over night, I have allowed myself time to write down specific questions to ask the professor when there is any sort of confusion. However, in a more specific way I found that the best way to do this is by rewriting notes that I have taken and color coding that information by topic. I attempt to analyze the information that the professor has given and look for major themes or information that has been emphasized in class. Another technique that has been extremely beneficial is making handmade flashcards. While a lot of my classmates find using apps such as Quizlet or StudyBlue to make these flashcards a great tool to study, I have found that I am unable to retain the information when typing. Therefore, as studies have proven in the past, the best way to sustain this newfound knowledge is to write it down on old fashioned flashcards. Additionally, in finding your site I may use the tools that this website provides for my future test preparation in order to help me receiving a bachelors degree in biology. Also, perhaps this site may be of future use to provide a greater asset and tool when I eventually want to become a pediatric oncologist and be successful in med school.
