Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

I have always been strong academically. Not due to natural born smarts, but due to the preparation and hard work I put into school and classwork. In order to achieve what many people want, good grades, it is key to be able to have test preparation strategies that you can rely on when it comes to test day. Having these strategies at ones belt will make one feel less stressed, and more prepared for every test. For me, I go into every single test I take feeling comfortable and confident. This is very important. The strategies I use for preparing myself for tests are very simple. First off, test preparations starts in the classroom. It is super important to take notes everyday. Even if you feel comfortable with the material you will be tested on, always take notes. The notes you take should be detailed and as descriptive as possible. Next, make sure that you do your homework that is assigned every night. If it is optional, still complete it. This will also help strengthen your knowledge on the subject being tested. When it comes to studying on your own, outside of doing homework and taking notes, you want a quiet environment. This is very important. Also, turn your phone off and put it in another room. Once this is done, go into your quiet studying area and get your materials out. If the task at hand is memorizing or trying to remember something, make handwritten flashcards. Do not do quizlet or anything electronic. Handwriting things helps memorizing them and flashcards are a great way to study. If you need to practice review sheets or practice problems of the unit, you can always find a practice worksheet online over the topic at hand. Print out the worksheet and practice. Try to complete it without using any notes or previous homework assignments for reference. If need be then you can use those to help. Lastly, make sure to get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast. Go into the test feeling confident knowing you are going to crush it!
