Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I love to use flashcards! There is just something about transferring key information from a textbook or lecture onto a four inch by six inch piece of paper. I have flashcard wallets for each class and have them separated by chapter or unit. I feel as having these easily at my disposal makes it easier to study. I work full time, attend school full time, and am a full time single mom, so having the ability to put my cards into my purse or pocket and pulling them out during a break at work or while my kids play at the playground makes it convenient to maximize my time in all areas of my life. If I know I have an exam for a particular class this week I will make sure I have the cards for that class on me. This method has changed how I study and is bringing up my GPA. I started the semester with a transfer GPA of 3.12 and am finishing my first full semester at university with a 4.0 for the semester. I believe this method will help me to continue to earn A's in my classes as I progress through my final two years before medical school. Changing my studying from notebooks to flashcards really helped me to become organized and feel more like a professional and a real student.
