Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
When I need to study for a test, what I have found best for me is writing things down in pen or pencil, then creating written flash cards. While I memorize the answers, walking around tends to help me stay focused and ingrains the answers into my mind. Writing things down rather than typing them out is like creating a tattoo for your brain. You are engaging more body parts, rather than just your mind, in creating the answers. Something else that helps is color coding your notes. I have photographic memory as well and when I color code, I remember sections or key elements better. I am always trying new study techniques as well, but these few techniques I have mentioned are things I used throughout junior high and high school and have helped me in college and other aspects of my life as well. These practices work for me because the more hands on, engaged, and involved I am in the learning process, the more likely I will learn.
