Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
To prepare for tests, I use use flashcards, read over notes, and take practice exams or self-quizzes. Once I have a general feel for the material from studying, I talk to either other people in the class who need help or people who are not in the class but want to learn, and I teach the concepts to them. I find the best way for me to fully understand information and remember it long-term is to teach it to someone. If I can do that, then I know I will likely retain the information for years. Finally, about an hour before any exam I always sit in the same spot, have the same snack, and skim over my notes one last time to remind myself of any specific details that may be useful for this specific exam. This is a tactic sort of like muscle memory that I have taken from my basketball training and applied to my studies. Doing the same thing consistently helps me relax, focus better, feel more prepared. I score higher on exams when I do each of these things.
