Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Taking tests is often a huge stressor in my life, and causes anxiety for me. Though I have been taking tests for over 15 years now, I still have not become accustomed to the stress that test taking brings me. Some ways I have learned to cope with test taking preparation includes various different techniques that reduce my stress and leave me feeling ultimately prepared. I usually start off by taking handwritten notes on the imperative parts of readings. This allows me to specifically address what is important in my readings. Next, I use flashcards or online services like Quizlet to review myself constantly and take pre-made tests that are provided. I will also make a study guide that is hand written in order to again, highlight what is important. Writing down the information usually drills the information into my brain. My study habits have been almost consistent from middle school all the way to nursing school, with the exception of learning new tips here and there. Now that I have escalated to the toughness and rigor of nursing school, I have even included making voice recordings to listen to in the car, and laminating my materials to read in the shower! The workload and information is crazy, but have led me to maintain my 4.0 term GPA. I hope others are able to gain information or tips from my submission!
