Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

The test preparation practice that works best for me is studying material for a small amount of time each day over a long period of time before the test. I will start by mapping out the amount of time I have to prepare for a test, then I will develop a plan. Typically, I will start by spending ten or so minutes each day simply reviewing notes, concepts, and overall material regarding the test. Next, I will incorporate flashcards and study guides in to my daily study routine to help myself memorize core concepts. These first two strategies take up the most time and help me retain the information I am learning. As the test date comes closer, I will begin spending more time each day studying as well as creating quizzes or taking online practice exams. I will be sure to focus on concepts I do not understand as well and frequently watch videos on those concepts. Lastly, if I have a peer/friend who is also taking the same exam, I will be sure to organize study sessions as the test date approaches. This is extremely helpful for understanding topics on the test that I do not understand because my peers can often explain it to me in a way that is easy to understand. This overall method works for me because it doesn't allow me to procrastinate and cram to the exam. I tend to retain the information much better if I study a little each day for a long time rather than study for hours days before the test.
