Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Tests are a pretty big deal no matter what grade or what school you attend, so it’s always important that you prepare for them. Some people do have difficulty as they don’t really know exactly what to do, or they just simply don’t know how to study. Usually, the teacher will announce the test a few days or even a few weeks in advance. It’s very important that you take advantage of this time that you have. When studying, usually I make sure that I study what I’m struggling to understand so that way I’m more prepared for it. Then after that, it’s pretty much just a review of everything to ensure that it sticks to my brain. Depending on what you're studying for, usually, there will be practice tests available online or even provided by the teacher. I always take advantage of that and I don’t stop doing them until I get a perfect score or just close enough to a perfect score. At home, it’s great to at least study for 30 minutes. Always test yourself and see where it is exactly what you need help with. Ask friends or get yourself a tutor to help you. Also, something very important that seems to affect many is distractions. This was me at first but I managed to just stay focused on whatever I was doing. One way is by silencing or just putting away my phone, I keep it away from my sights and I just don’t think about it. I also make sure that I’m in a quiet environment, no noise means no distractions. Usually, the day before the test, I do a quick recap of everything, making sure that I understand every concept, repeating words in my head. It’s also important that one gets a very good sleep. The last thing that you want is to work hard preparing yourself just so that you show up tired the next day and your brain not working to its fullest. Manage your time wisely, understand the material, just don’t panic and stay focused.
