Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Looking back at my High School career, memorization was one of my largest problems. The preparation practice that works best for me is repetition. Several ways to do this are flashcards, rewriting, and quizlet. All practices require the idea of continuously seeing the topics that need to be known. Flashcards that I use are hand made myself. It is proven that by writing things down, one is more likely to remember them. It is very easy to cheat with flashcards so the best way to use them is to have someone quiz you. The repetition method is not as easy to cheat yourself on but can still be done without integrity. The most effective way to complete this method is to hide the list of terms and than try to write them all out without looking. Then you check your answers with a different color pen and fix your mistakes. Stopping after one time is not going to get you where you want to be so I have found that repeating this process at least three times everyday before the test works well for me. This method does not get you 100 percent accuracy after one day of using this technique so you may have to repeat this process starting at least five days prior to the test. My third go to method of studying is quizlet. The flashcard method on this is helpful however, the learn tool is what I use the most. Quizlet makes it so that there are no ways to cheat yourself unless you have the answers right next to you. The way this works is that you start off with multiple choice, and then as you learn the terms and get them correct, you move on to a more difficult way of memorizing the term and this process continues until you have mastered all terms. This method is something that can be repeated however the process is very helpful when the test or quiz is one day away. It took some trial and error to find these three methods that work best for me but there are so many more methods out there to help all types of learners.
