Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

My test preparations practices revolve around a process. I start off by using One Note for rewriting all my notes into sections and with different colors. Using OneNote has completely changed the way I type my notes; it is very useful in the way that it lets you sort notes into different sections and has it all in one page. With each term, I attempt to connect it to entertainment media so I could better remember it. This works for me because as a common millennial, I tend to keep up with the media so if I connect my learning it will eventually stick more efficiently. Having a study playlist is a huge help while preparing for an exam. My playlist revolves around instrumental music like Debussy’s Claire de Lune and motivating music from BTS. This creates a balance between my studying in order to keep motivating myself to put in my best effort and not procrastinate. Next, I print out my notes at least two days before an exam in order to physically have them in my hand to study. This practice makes me feel more in control of my studying. Sometimes when there are terms that can’t stick, I organize them into a quizlet and use the virtual flashcards which makes them more accessible to study on my way to school or while having free time. This entire test preparation process helps me succeed by using constant repetition tools and a sprinkle of motivation.
