Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

There are several excellent techniques for preparing for exams, but the key is figuring out which study skills work best for you. My favorite test preparations are Quizlet, McGraw-Hill's Student Connect program, and going over old homework problems. I start to prepare for a test two weeks before its due date. Studying in groups also helps me preparer for the upcoming test. These preparations work well for me because I am an organized person, and I need time to go through the necessary material multiple times. Quizlet and McGraw-Hill allow you to create flashcards, practice tests, and games, and have tools that remind you to study. Studying two weeks prior to the test date keeps my level of stress about the test down because if I were to start studying near the test date, the information would not be accurately retained, and I won't be able to relax before the test.
There is a lot of content to cover for an exam. Giving myself more time to cover material helps you comprehend everything you will need to know. Going over old homework reminds me of the types of questions a professor may ask and is an opportunity to test yourself. I value study groups because studying can become frustrating, stressful, and I may become unmotivated. Studying with a group makes the process more enjoyable because you are helping each other. When in the lecture, it is extremely easy to miss valuable information because of the amount provided during a short period. In groups, I can share and compare notes, which will give everyone in the group more information about the concepts. Doing this makes me feel more prepared for my test. In my experience with group studying, we regularly gave and received motivation and support from each other group members. It is important to remember everyone studies differently. There is no set way you must study, so find what works for you and use it to your advantage.
