Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

When I study for a test, I have a few techniques that work for me. One technique is to take a small section of the material and say it over and over again out-loud to commit it to memory. The second method, which often merges with my first method, is putting a section of the material to a rhythm or song of some sort. When I put study material to a tune, I can easily remember the material as the "lyrics" to my study "song". This second method is my favorite because it makes studying more enjoyable. It also allows me to remember the information I studied even after I have taken the test. (One good example of how this method works occurred in fifth grade. My teacher was teaching us about the most common prepositions. For the test, we had to memorize the list she had made. By putting the list to the tune of "Swanee River", she helped my class to memorize the whole list. I now know those prepositions like the back of my hand [and still remember the song].)
