Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

I never would have thought I would be accepted into the school of my dreams. There was too much weight riding on my ACT score, and I was never a good test taker. It was during my junior year that I realized my test-taking habits are something that I could take control of. I began to implement many new habits into my daily routine to improve my test-taking skills. To study for the ACT, I began each day with video reviews of what I had previously learned. Each day, I completed 1 math and science lesson, and 2 reading and English lessons. For me, it was about consistency and review. I learned to reward myself, such as eating a gummy bear every time I got ten questions right. I took short breaks in order to keep my brain engaged. By drinking water, I was aware the whole time I was prepping. I believe that a combination of physical, mental, and emotional test preparation practices are essential to achieving the score you want. Through staying committed to these test preparation practices, I was able to raise my ACT score tremendously and achieve my biggest goal of being accepted into the University of Georgia.
