Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

To be honest, I don't think I have the most outstanding test preparations in the world. It usually depends on the topic or what class the test is in as well. If it's math, I take time to go through the kinds of problems expected to be one it. I try to make sure I know what to look for and how to work with the equation or numbers I am given.
If it is a writing test, then I study any of our possible topics to the best of my ability. Memorization? I take a day or so and just go through the memorization a few lines at a time. Spacing stuff out or going over the right format helps the brain remember easier. Going over homework and reviews over and over at a nice, consistent pace helps me remember best. If I try to rush and cram and just glance over the problems, I won't learn what I need to do and I won't do good on the test.
