Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

While in school, I did a project showing how quickly one can forget information when retaining so much knowledge in one day, due to this study I discovered the spacing effect. In the spacing effect, one is to review the material within intervals. I feel this works best for me because with the spacing effect, I practice constant repetition of the material I've learned, and by breaking it down into smaller sections makes it easier to retain even over a long time period.
Over time the complexity of classes became more relevant as I started to take on more advanced courses such as AP and honors where lessons moved at a faster rate than regular core classes. With this in mind, I knew the mere continuation of the spacing effect only helped with half the battle of retaining the information, so I took on color-coding my notes. When I began to color-code my notes, I made sure to use more vibrant colors, such as reds, yellows, and greens due to it being more eye-grabbing then boring notes, written in the typical black and blue, and since it caught my eye, color coding made it easier not only to remember but to retain for a various amount of time by being easily embedded to the continuation of the spacing effect.
