Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Preparing for tests is one of those things you do not want to start but are glad about when you accomplish the studying. I have taken numerous tests throughout my school career, and I find I have similar preparation routines for the tests I do well on. It all begins in the classroom, where I take notes, ask questions, and strive to acquire a grasp on the material. I use the notes I have taken to study and find other methods, like my textbooks or online review videos, to gain additional understanding. Videos are especially helpful for some last-minute preparation for exams over course units or final exams. If I have a test that did not go as well, I ask for help from my friends and teachers so I can feel confident when I see that material on a future test. I also make sure to review frequently so I do not have to try to memorize all the information immediately before the test. These methods work for me because they engage multiple practices: writing, synthesizing, watching, listening, collaborating, and evaluating. I find that if I engage in multiple test preparation strategies then I will be prepared for the material that will be covered on the test. This approach makes me more likely to remember the material and demonstrate that knowledge on testing days.
