Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

“To do what nobody else will do, a way that nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through; that is to be a nurse.” — Rawsi Williams, motivational and interesting quote about nursing. I am really passionate in pursuing a nursing degree. The reason I got extremely interested in pursuing a nursing career was the time I was moving to the United States. I had to stay in a camp before I moved to the United states. The camp was overpopulated with a lot of immigrants. Those immigrants, including us, were mentally and physically weak because of the difficult time crossing the border, resisting the conditions like horrible climate and even being able to walk for like 7 hours. Because of all these situations, a lot of people were sick and couldn’t seek medical care unless they found a medical practitioner. But once the nurses reached for them, I saw the relief in their eyes. They were suffering a lot before the nurses came but once the nurses came, they started healing. So from that time I was inspired to study medical major, which I also think I can do and really had liked it recently. In addition to that, my mom has Diabetes, which she sometimes faces intolerable levels of hardship. Furthermore, my mom had 3 surgeries of tumor removal within these two months, which helped her survive. She inspires me to be in the medical field and help people like her heal. There is a huge role of the nurses in every medical field and I want to be part of it. I have joined the health and behavioural science pathway in my senior year to start off the journey of my dream work. And right now we are experiencing a pandemic which is taking thousands of people’s lives. A lot of countries are in lack of medical workers and that is leading to a lot of people’s death. I could imagine how hard and concentrated the job the nurses are facing because of the shortage of people in that field, right now. So I,personally, can make a huge change if I am involved in the nursing field.
