Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.
From the classes, I have taken and from the knowledge, I have researched and learned it has expanded my interest in the medical field. Even though I may not know much, the classes I have taken, like Anatomy I and Anatomy II, really helped me a lot to try and help somebody else.
My family is all mostly in the medical field for some kind of nursing career or physician assistant, which really got me into the idea of the medical field as well. So I decided to go into the nursing field when I was a sophomore in high school. From then on I have taken the classes I could that involved the medical field and I enjoyed and learned so much from them all. They have really helped me pick the career I really wanted.
For a while, I thought about going into cosmetology until after my accident. Breaking my femur in half with a spiral fracture to my hip when I was 9 years old. Going through the process of learning how to walk again with the help of so many healthcare professionals, I felt like all of these challenges in my life was showing me that I should go into the medical field and help others. I should be there for others like the nurses and doctors were there to help me through my struggles. From then on, I felt the need to help people in any way needed. When I see someone get hurt I’m always the first one there trying to assess the situation and make sure they get the help they need. I feel I can relate in one way or another to most people and problems. That’s what I like the most. Also, the challenge of situations and problem-solving is something that keeps me going to pursue my passion and I wouldn’t want to do it any other way.
