Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

After spending the last decade of my life in varying career fields, I realized that I am a person who needs to help others and strives to make a positive difference in people’s lives. I spent a considerable amount of time speaking to nurses, and shadowed quite a few of them to cement my decision that this is the right path for me.. My drive to help people and having an impact on the wellbeing of others has been my motivation for pursuing nursing.

Clinical Nurse Leader would be the ideal path of education for me, as it would allow me to utilize my strengths and knowledge build up over my lifetime. My previous occupations all required me to show leadership, innovation, and proficiency; this would help me excel in the role of a Clinical Nurse Leader, who wears many hats ranging from outcomes manager to client advocate. I would be able to put my skills to use, since CNL’s often serve as a bridge between clients and health care systems. The biggest draw the profession of a CNL has for me is client care, including risk anticipation and client advocacy. I am interested in working on improving patient care and increasing access to quality healthcare, therefore making a positive impact in many people's lives. I believe in the idea that people are here to do good, and I I would like to do as much as I can to help others in their time when they need help the most.
