Write an essay where you tell us about what drives you in your pursuit of your graduate degree.

A graduate degree is an opportunity to broaden my knowledge in ways beneficial to my career goals. A CPA designation has been the key inspiration in pursuing a master's in business administration. To become a CPA in the private sector has inspired me to begin graduate studies in August 2019. The credential is the foundation to achieving my goals. One of my goals is to become a full-time entrepreneur to achieve the work freedom, which I believe would surpass full-time employment. Sitting for the CPA exam will occur after gaining an MBA with a concentration in accounting.
Moreover, I plan to finish my graduate studies on time and then seek employment with a company that pays for the CPA exam prep materials. I would gain considerable experience by being a CPA at a Big Four firm. Next, I plan to start a business after ten to fifteen years of employment at the Big 4 firm. Through this employment, I would hope to gain enough business connections/relationships that would remain when I create my own business firm. The management and accounting knowledge from my MBA degree should be beneficial when creating a business strategy for my own business firm.
Next, I would likely start creating my own business after being employed between ten to fifteen years at the Big 4 firm. Through this employment, I would hope to gain business connections/relationships that hopefully would still remain when I create my own business firm. With these connections, the process of starting my own business may be quickened. The management and accounting knowledge that I should have gained will also be critical in recognizing opportunities in creating a business strategy for my own business firm. Lastly, I hope the business firm that I create will survive and not be a statistic of business failures.
