Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I’m not going to tell you guys that I study everyday for an hour, or that I cram the night before for every test/quiz I’ve ever taken, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have amazing test preparation strategies for you. The majority of test preparation is done through your classwork and homework, if you pay attention to those two things you should do fine in the class, because the teacher shouldn’t test you on concepts they haven’t taught you. Now state tests are different, they are not blatantly telling you what you need to study, that’s up to the online forums and your teacher to tell you and prepare you for them, but there's something you need to know about state testing, they are almost entirely based off of interpretation, that’s why as long as you can interpret what people have to say or form your own opinions, there is a very good chance that you pass those tests. So the best you can do for the test is to maintain your mental and physical health, if I know that I have a test coming up, then for the next two weeks or as soon as possible, I stop staying up so late, I set a sleep schedule for myself so I don’t wake up exhausted every day, I start eating breakfast so that I have the energy to focus in class and to take the test, and finally on the day of the test, this isn’t really a preparation thing, I make a slice of bacon and two eggs for breakfast, then I arrange them to create a 100 on the plate, this is mostly a personal luck thing I do and during the test don’t keep looking up at the timer, the proctor will tell you how much time you have left, looking at the timer will just take away time you get on the test. The main thing you can take away from this is that being able to pay attention in class will give you enough basic knowledge to pass the class, study concepts you struggle on in order to solidify the basic knowledge and build upon it, and finally to maintain or improve your mental/physical health in order to stay focused and ready.
