Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

The way I prepare usually always differs in how the test is going to be formatted. For any memorization type tests, I always try to get all the important terms out of the unit and create flashcards to practice and test myself on my knowledge on all of them. Just being in a quiet room with an active mindset memorizing all these terms is very efficient. Now, when it comes to tests that require applying and knowing how to use something, such as a formula, I prefer to go over any homework and give myself extra practice. This isn't just to practice more, but rather find out why the formula is used rather than just memorizing it. This way if I ever forget something on the exam I can conceptually get the formula that I need because that would make more sense in that case. This would apply more to my math based and science classes.
