Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Studying is hard! My dad always said that repetition is the greatest teacher so the best way for me to study is by using flashcards then looking at them over and over again until I know the material. This is good for any kind of class that requires memorization, definitions, etc. For math or equation-based problems, it's the same concept - just do the problems over and over until you know them. When I have a lot of material to learn and remember for a test, I will often think of word associations or jingles to help me. Such as "Every Good Boy Does Fine" to remember the treble clef in music or the Fifty Nifty song to remember the states. Also, not to be ignored is the need to take a break from time to time. For me, I find that I can study from 1-2 hours before my ability to remember all that I am taking in - my brain needs a break! I will often go exercise, get a protein snack or go drive around with the music blasting. Another thing I do that helps my comprehension is that I read a lot. Sure, I'm a normal teenager and spend too much time on my phone or watching YouTube videos but my parents planted the love for reading in me at a young age. So, there you have it - throw everything at the wall and see what sticks!
