Answer

A: The process of natural selection describes how animals survive by adapting to their environment.  The animals that survive produce offspring who have the same survival skills.  In this case, the giraffes with long necks were able to survive by eating a food source that may not have been available to animals that usually ate food near the ground.  The giraffes with long necks then produced offspring with long necks who could eat from this higher food source.
