The ATI TEAS® 6 Test is a standard exam that is required for preadmission for those who are wishing to attend nursing school. This exam is used in many nursing programs around the country. The ATI TEAS® 6 Test is designed to help identify students who would be successful in nursing school and to identify those who have the ability to think like a nurse.
If you’re wanting to get into the nursing school of your choice, you’ll need to be sure that you’re ready to ace the ATI TEAS® 6 exam.
The average school composite score requirement: 60%-70%
The national average student composite score: 65%-75%
The very best schools may require scores up to 85%
*Every school’s requirements are different, so check with your school to make sure you know exactly what score is needed to be accepted into the program.
If you take the ATI TEAS® 6 exam, and you don’t get the necessary score TWICE, some schools won’t let you try again, essentially forcing you to either:
- a) find a new degree program, or
- b) find a new school.
Most schools will require you to wait at least 30 days before being able to try again while others will make you wait anywhere from 2.5 months to 2+ years!
