The ACT exam is a standardized entrance test that measures high-school aged students for their readiness for college. The ACT gives your potential college an idea as to what classes you are prepared to take in college.

The ACT exam consists of four sections:

  1. English
  2. Math
  3. Reading
  4. Science

What to Expect on the ACT

There is also a Writing Section on the ACT exam that is optional.

The Math section contains 60 questions time for 60 minutes and measures the mathematical skills that students have typically acquired in courses that have been taken up to the beginning of grade 12. The questions that are included in the Math section of the ACT consist of:

  • Essential Skills
  • Number and Quantity
  • Algebra
  • Functions
  • Geometry
  • Statistics and Probability
