The unscored questions appear throughout the exam and are used to evaluate their validity for future versions of the exam.<\/p>\n<p>The exam is split into three core areas of infusion therapy.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"1_Principles_of_Practice_(35_scored_questions)\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>1. Principles of Practice (35 scored questions)<\/h3>\n<p>The questions in this area are designed to assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anatomy and physiology<\/li>\n<li>Infection prevention and control<\/li>\n<li>Phlebotomy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"2_Access_Devices_(39_scored_questions)\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>2. Access Devices (39 scored questions)<\/h3>\n<p>The questions in this area are designed to assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solution containers<\/li>\n<li>Administration sets<\/li>\n<li>Filters<\/li>\n<li>Add-on devices<\/li>\n<li>Administration devices<\/li>\n<li>Vein location devices<\/li>\n<li>Navigational tools<\/li>\n<li>Infusion access devices<\/li>\n<li>Special populations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"3_Infusion_Therapies_(46_scored_questions)\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>3. It is important to note that this exam has strict application deadlines. To proceed without having to pay a late fee, make sure that you are aware of these.<\/p>\n<p>The registration fee is $525. If you apply early enough, you will receive a $50 discount.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have completed your application and it has been approved, you will be sent a confirmation letter. In this letter will be your unique PSI\/AMP code, which is needed for you to log in to PSI\/AMP\u2019s website to schedule and register for the exam.<\/p>\n<p>You will receive an email from PSI\/AMP with an invitation to schedule your exam by the first week of February, for March test takers, or by the first week of August, for September examinees. The earlier you schedule, the more likely you are to get your preferred testing time, date, and place.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"pt-page\"><span id=\"Test_Day\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\n<p>It is important that you arrive between 15 and 30 minutes early to your scheduled exam appointment. If you show up late, you will not be allowed to take the exam and will forfeit your registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>At the testing site, two valid current forms are ID are required. One of these must contain a recent photo. Both must have your current name and signature. Permitted forms of ID are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license with photo<\/li>\n<li>State ID with photo<\/li>\n<li>Passport<\/li>\n<li>Military ID card with photo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will also need to bring your confirmation letter with your PSI\/AMP code with you to log in to the testing computers.<\/p>\n<p>No personal items are allowed into the testing site, other than your wallet and keys. These will be stored in a designated locker during the test. However, you are allowed to have a silent, nonprogrammable calculator in the testing room with you.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"pt-page\"><span id=\"How_the_Exam_is_Scored\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\n<p>Your CRNI score is determined using a scaled scoring system. This means that your raw score, which is how many questions you answered correctly, is converted to a numerical scaled score from 0 to 99. The minimum passing score is 70.<\/p>\n<p>Upon your completion of the exam, you will receive your official score report at the testing site. This will include whether you have passed or failed, as well as scaled and raw scores separated into major content categories.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"pt-page\"><span id=\"Retaking_the_Exam\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>Retaking the Exam<\/h2>\n<p>If you do not pass the exam, you may retake it after submitting another application and exam fee.
