<\/span>Exam Outline<\/h2>\nThe ILTS Target Language Proficiency\u2014Spanish exam contains 55 multiple-choice questions and two constructed-response questions, and you will be given a time limit of 3 hours and 45 minutes.<\/p>\n
The exam is split into three subareas.<\/p>\n
<\/span>I. Reading Comprehension<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n
\n- The literal meaning of a variety of materials written in Spanish<\/li>\n
- Inferring and interpreting a variety of materials written in Spanish<\/li>\n
- Critically analyze a variety of materials written in Spanish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/span>II. Writing Proficiency<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n
\n- Expressing and supporting personal views in Spanish on a current educational issue<\/li>\n
- Analyzing advantages and limitations of common instructional techniques<\/li>\n
- Comparing and contrasting different perspectives on an educational topic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/span>III. Oral Proficiency<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n
\n- Telling a story in Spanish about an educational experience that was important to you<\/li>\n
- Making a presentation to your class in Spanish about the importance of reading<\/li>\n
- Describing, in Spanish, a book you have read that you would recommend to students or teachers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/span>Registration<\/h2>\nTo register for the exam, you must first create an ILTS\/ISBE account. Once your account has been created, log in and select the Target Language Proficiency\u2014Spanish (056) exam. From there, you can register for the exam, pay the $110 testing fee, and schedule your testing appointment.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\nOn the day of your exam, you should arrive at the testing center 15-30 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment. After you arrive, you will be asked to sign in and provide two valid forms of government-issued ID.<\/p>\n
Before the exam begins, you will be asked to place all personal items (cell phone, keys, wallet, accessories, etc.) in a locker outside the testing room, or you may be asked to leave them in your car.<\/p>\n
Once the test begins, you will be allowed to take breaks. However, the timer will not be stopped during your break, so use your break time carefully.<\/p>\n
<\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\nYour ILTS score is determined by taking your raw score (the number of questions you answered correctly) and converting it to a scaled score from 100 to 300. To pass, you will need to get a minimum scaled score of 240.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
