<\/span>ILTS School Nurse Exam Outline<\/h2>\nThe ILTS School Nurse exam contains 100 multiple-choice questions and has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes.<\/p>\n
The exam is split into three subareas.<\/p>\n

<\/span>II. The Specialty Practice of School Nursing (36%)<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n
\n- The provision and management of school nursing and student health services<\/li>\n
- The care and management of illnesses and chronic health conditions<\/li>\n
- Development of Individualized Healthcare Plans<\/li>\n
- The toles and responsibilities of the school nurse in the multidisciplinary evaluation of students<\/li>\n
- Policies, ethical guidelines, professional standards, and laws that impact the practice of school nursing<\/li>\n
- Acquiring and maintaining current credentials, knowledge, and competency in school nursing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/span>III. Health Promotion, Disease Prevention, and Coordinated Care (36%)<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea assess your knowledge and skills pertaining to the following:<\/p>\n
\n- Health promotion and disease prevention concepts<\/li>\n
- Curriculum development and instruction in the school health program<\/li>\n
- Assessment and evaluation in the development of the school health program<\/li>\n
- Effective approaches to collaboration and delegation in the school health program<\/li>\n
- The role of the school nurse in preparedness response and coordination during disasters, crises, and emergencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/span>Exam Registration<\/h2>\nTo register for the exam, you must first create an ILTS\/ISBE account. Once your account has been created, log in and select the School Nurse (236) exam. From there, you can register for the exam, pay the $110 testing fee, and schedule your testing appointment.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\nOn the day of your exam, you should arrive at the testing center about 30 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment. After you arrive, you will be asked to sign in and provide two valid forms of government-issued ID.<\/p>\n
Before the exam begins, you will be asked to place all personal items (cell phone, keys, wallet, accessories, etc.) in a locker outside the testing room, or you may be asked to leave them in your car.<\/p>\n
Once the test begins, you will be allowed to take breaks. However, the timer will not be stopped during your break, so use your break time carefully.<\/p>\n
<\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\nYour ILTS score is determined by taking your raw score (the number of questions you answered correctly) and converting it to a scaled score from 100 to 300. To pass, you will need to get a minimum scaled score of 240.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
