<\/span>GACE Curriculum and Instruction Exam Outline<\/h2>\nThe GACE Curriculum and Instruction exam contains 6 constructed-response questions, and you will be given a time limit of 4.5 hours.<\/p>\n
The exam is split into two subareas.<\/p>\n
<\/span>I. Student Learning, Research, and Professional Practices (40%)<\/h3>\nThe focused-response questions in this subarea assess your knowledge of the following:<\/p>\n
\n- Major concepts and principles related to developmental and educational learning theories<\/li>\n
- Applying research to curricular and instructional decision-making<\/li>\n
- The role of the curriculum and instructional leader as a professional resource<\/li>\n
- Developing collaborative processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/span>II. Research (60%)<\/h3>\nThe extended-response questions in this subarea assess your knowledge of the following:<\/p>\n
\n- Principles and practices related to assessment and data-driven decision-making<\/li>\n
- Using data to determine curricula and instructional effectiveness<\/li>\n
- Structuring the learning environment<\/li>\n
- Selecting, designing, and implementing curricula across content areas<\/li>\n
- Designing and delivering content-specific instruction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/span>Exam Registration<\/h2>\nTo register for the exam, you need to use your MyPSC account. If you do not have an account, create your account to receive your Georgia certification number. After you register for the Curriculum and Instruction exam on MyPSC, create an ETS GACE testing account. Your ETS account lists the test(s) you are approved to take. You will register for the exam through your ETS GACE testing account.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Fees<\/h3>\nThe test fee is $263, which includes a $25 registration fee and a $28 test center fee. Individuals taking the GACE exam at an international testing site are subject to an additional $50 test site fee.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\nYou should arrive at the testing center on exam day 15-30 minutes before your scheduled exam, which will give you enough time to complete the check-in process. If you arrive later than the listed reporting time on your admission ticket, you will not be able to take the exam and your testing fees will be forfeited.<\/p>\n
You will be asked to provide at least one form of valid identification, which must contain your photo and signature. Once the check-in process is complete, you will be asked to place all personal items in a secure locker outside the testing room.<\/p>\n
Once you are ready, the proctor will lead you to the testing area and provide some short instructions before starting the exam.<\/p>\n
<\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\nWhen you have completed your exam, you are given the option to report or cancel your scores. They cannot be reinstated if you choose to cancel your scores.<\/p>\n
You should also receive an unofficial score report right after the exam. Your official report will be made available about three weeks after the testing window closes.<\/p>\n
