<\/span>Exam Outline<\/h2>\nThe MTTC Visual Arts Education exam contains 100 multiple-choice questions, and you will be given a time limit of 2.5 hours.<\/p>\n
The exam is split into four subareas.<\/p>\n
<\/span>I. Creating Visual Art (33%)<\/h3>\nThe questions in this subarea cover the following topics:<\/p>\n
\n- Drawing, painting, graphic design, and other two-dimensional media<\/li>\n
- The two-dimensional media of printmaking and photography<\/li>\n

- The effects of culture and gender on visual art<\/li>\n
- The basic components of media literacy<\/li>\n

\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/span>Registration<\/h2>\nTo register for the MTTC Visual Arts Education exam, you must create an online NES account via their website. You can register for the exam and schedule an exam date through this account. When you register, you will need to pay the $129 examination fee.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\nOn test day, you should arrive at the testing center around 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time. Once you arrive, you will be asked to present one form of valid, government-issued photo ID. If you forget to bring your ID or your ID is invalid, you will not be able to take the exam.<\/p>\n
After the check-in process, you will be asked to leave all personal items in a secure locker outside the testing area. This includes your cell phone, bags, wallet, keys, food, and any smoking\/vaping devices. If you wear eyeglasses, they will be inspected by a testing center agent before you enter the testing room.<\/p>\n
Once you enter the testing room, you will be asked to sign an NDA, and you will be given a brief tutorial on the computer-adaptive testing system. Once the tutorial is complete, the exam will begin.<\/p>\n
<\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\nYour MTTC Visual Arts Education score is reported within the range of 100-300 and is based on your performance on all sections of the test. To pass the exam, you must achieve a scaled score of 220.<\/p>\n
