<\/span>FTCE Chemistry 6-12 Exam Outline<\/h2>\nThe FTCE Chemistry 6-12 exam contains 85 multiple-choice questions, and you will be given a time limit of 2.5 hours to complete it.<\/p>\n
The multiple-choice questions are grouped into eight knowledge-based competencies:<\/p>\n
\n- The nature of matter (10%)<\/li>\n
- Energy and its interaction with matter (14%)<\/li>\n
- Bonding and molecular structure (18%)<\/li>\n
- Chemical reactions and stoichiometry (21%)<\/li>\n
- Atomic theory and structure (12%)<\/li>\n
- The nature of science (10%)<\/li>\n
- Measurement (10%)<\/li>\n
- Appropriate laboratory use and procedures (5%)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/span> Exam Registration<\/h2>\nTo register for the exam, you must first create an FTCE\/FELE account. Once your account has been created, log in and select the Chemistry 6-12 (003) exam. From there, you can register for the exam, pay the $150 testing fee, and schedule your testing appointment.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Test Day<\/h2>\nOn testing day, you should arrive at the testing center 15-30 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment. After you arrive, you will be asked to sign in and provide two valid forms of government-issued ID. Your photograph will then be taken, and a biometric scan of your palm vein will be taken for identification and security purposes.<\/p>\n
When the check-in process is complete, you will be asked to place all personal items in a locker outside the testing room, or you may be asked to leave them in your car.<\/p>\n
When you enter the testing room, you will be given a scientific calculator, and the proctor will provide testing instructions. Once the test begins, you will be allowed to take breaks. However, the timer will not be stopped during your break, so use your break time carefully.<\/p>\n
<\/span>How the Exam is Scored<\/h2>\nYour final FTCE Chemistry 6-12 score is determined by taking your raw score, which is the number of questions you answered correctly, and converting it to a scaled score. To pass, you will need to get a minimum scaled score of 200.<\/p>\n
