This portion of the test covers three areas, including basic control skills, vehicle inspection and a road test.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vehicle Inspection Test (Takes about 40 Minutes)<\/strong>\u2014During this portion, you\u2019ll walk through an actual inspection with your proctor and explain your inspection decisions to him\/her.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basic Control Skills Test (Takes about 30 Minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 This portion puts you behind the wheel and requires to you complete some essential maneuvers, including turning the vehicle in a defined area, pulling backward and forward, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Road Test (Takes about 45 to 60 Minutes)<\/strong> \u2014 Using route designed by the Department of Motor Vehicles, you\u2019ll drive the vehicle and be assessed on your ability to navigate and successfully complete maneuvers typically required of a person driving the vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"pt-page\"><span id=\"Additional_Resources\" class=\"m-toc-anchor\"><\/span>Additional Resources<\/h2>\n<p>As you get set for the CDL exam, we want to remind you about other resources that are available to you with Mometrix Academy. For example, depending on which class of CDL you will have, you will be able to driver any vehicle that weights 26,000 or more for commercial use, transport hazardous waste material, and operate a vehicle that is designed to transport more than 16 passengers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"qa_wrap\">\n<div class=\"q_item text_bold\">\n<h4 class=\"letter\">Q<\/h4>\n<p style=\"line-height: unset;\">Can you drive a bus with a CLASS A CDL?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"a_item\">\n<h4 class=\"letter text_bold\">A<\/h4>\n<p>To drive a bus, you must possess a Class C CDL along with first a P endorsement. A P endorsement is required to drive a vehicle that carries at least 16 passengers. The CDL test is multiple choice.
