The ASWB Clinical Exam includes 122 questions spanning three core aspects of a career in social work.<\/p>\n

\nEthical Principles and Responsibilities:<\/strong> This tests ethical clinical practice, including confidentiality, informed consent, professional responsibilities and values, resolving dilemmas, preventing burnout, practicing self-care, and maintaining competence.<\/p>\n

Ethical Service Delivery:<\/strong> This tests ethical clinical service delivery, including client autonomy, boundaries, reporting, documentation, billing, policy, termination, electronic practice, supervision, end-of-life issues, and research ethics.<\/p>\n

Diversity and Social Justice:<\/strong> This tests culturally responsive clinical practice, including anti-oppressive approaches, social justice, accessibility, identity, bias, privilege, power, exploitation, and immigration\u2019s effects on clients and services.\n<\/div>\n

\nAssessment Concepts:<\/strong> This tests biopsychosocial assessment of clients across the lifespan, including trauma, mental illness, addiction, abuse, family and relationship dynamics, poverty, development, disability, displacement, exploitation, aging, environmental stressors, and clients\u2019 capacity for self-determination.<\/p>\n

Assessment Methods and Techniques:<\/strong> This tests clinical assessment methods, including risk evaluation, interviewing, client engagement, readiness for change, DSM use, mental status exams, and integrating collateral records.<\/p>\n

Assessment Practices:<\/strong> This tests assessment-based treatment planning, including community resources, triage, service planning, intervention selection, cultural responsiveness, medication awareness, and readiness for termination.\n<\/div>\n
