Praxis II Early Childhood Content Knowledge Test
If you have the desire to instruct children from Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd Grade, then you may need to take the Praxis II Early Childhood: Content Knowledge exam. The purpose of the test is to evaluate the content knowledge of prospective early childhood teachers to ensure that they meet the requirements as established by each state. So, you will need to compare your scores to the required scores of the state to which you are seeking teacher certification to know if you have passed the test.
During the Praxis II Early Childhood: Content Knowledge exam, you will have a period of two hours (with your preference of a computer-based or paper-based exam) to complete 120 multiple-choice questions in areas of Creative and Performing Arts (about 10 questions), Health and Physical Education (about 10 questions), Language and Literacy (about 35 questions), Mathematics (about 30 questions), Science (about 15 questions), and Social Studies (about 15 questions). Each section should be studied diligently as the Praxis is a very difficult test to master. Also, you should have some familiarity with pedagogy concepts, as some questions are shaped from an understanding of children’s learning. At Mometrix Academy, you will find a growing library of free tutorial videos, which can supplement your studies for the Praxis II Early Childhood: Content Knowledge exam. We wish you the best in your studies and for your day of examination.
